Women in Saudi Arabia have been facing many struggles for years. They have been segragated in public places such as hospital waiting rooms and resteraunts, and are forced to sit in the back of public busses. They are even segregated in their own homes. Saudi Arabian women must obtain permission of a man to do day - to - day activities, such as recieve education, become employed, travel, open a bank account, or recieving mediccal care. Women cannot be elected to high political positions or take part in any decision - making processes. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that prohibits women from driving. In 2009, Saudi Atabia was the only country to score a zero in the category of political empowerment. It was also noted that Saudi Arabia is one of the few Middle Eastern countries to improve from 2008, with small economic gains. Because of electronic tracking devices secretly tracking women, a woman’s male guardian would get text messages
